In the spirit of Foodie February, I thought I would express my love for Kenosha cuisine through Haiku poem-style reviews. Some are silly, some are heavy on the puns. All are delicious.

The Buzz Cafe

Cali Baja
Turkey, sriracha,
Bacon, and avocado
SoCal tastes SoGood

Buzz Breakfast
Breakfast sandwiches
Take the “everything bagel”
To vastly new heights

Ode to Coffee
Espressos at Buzz
Are my personal choice for
The best brew in town

Beer and Wine
Bottled or on tap
More local drinks are found here
Than I knew exist

Cool Hive
Coffee, beer, and wine
See what the Buzz is about
In this snug, cool hive

Casa Capri

Chicken Carbonara
Pasta and bacon,
With crispy chicken cutlets
So named for the carbs?

Wine House
As “Casa” means house
This one has a wine cellar
With thirty-six types

Lava Love
Choco-lava cake
Erupts like Vesuvius
To Pompeii… too soon?

Save Room
Bar and banquet hall
Intimate, Italian fare
Save room for dessert

Mike’s Donuts and Chicken

Oreo Cyclops
Sounds like a creature
From ancient mythology
But more delicious

Maple Bacon Praline
A little salty…
Perhaps from the tears of joy
Streaming down my face

Edible artwork:
Sprinkles and frosting the paints
Fried dough the canvas

Boozy Shakes
Other than donuts,
Serves typical breakfast foods
And boozy milkshakes!

There’s More
Multi-level place
Could not get past the donuts
To sample the rest

Kaiser’s Pizza and Pub

Thin crust, deep dish, pan
House specials or build-your-own
Voted best in town

Baked Potato
Named for the Swiss cheese
That covers, like snow, mountains
Of chicken and spuds

Beef Sandwich
Generous portions
Italian beef and au jus
Cheese, peppers extra

Sports bar/restaurant
Amazing pizza and beer
Served here, hold the frills

Bristol 45 Diner

Bomb Burger
Hula-hoop onions
And barbecue sauce make this
Burger rock and roll

The Most Important
Famous for flapjacks,
The day’s most important meal
Is served all day here

Pondering Dessert
On display in front:
Pie by the slice – or why not
Order the whole thing?

Happy Days
Fifties-themed diner
Happy days are here again
For Bristol foodies

Well, That's all for now.

Happy Foodie February!

We'll still eat in March.
