It is a long-standing tradition in the Kenosha Area to visit Jerry Smith’s Produce & Pumpkin Farm come October. Families, friends, young couples, school groups … it doesn’t matter who you are. There is something to enjoy at the pumpkin patch. There is still time to enjoy painting pumpkins, haunted tours, and pumpkin farm cookies – and we’ve got two Kenosha Pros to share the highlights with you!

Favorite Farm Features

Dana: There is plenty of free parking! It’s the little things that matter to busy moms, right? This is a popular place, but I have never really felt that it was over-crowded or that parking was inconvenient. There is so much space for people to spread out at the farm. This is a win for sure.

Brittany: Hayrides! What’s more romantic on a crisp autumn night than a hayride, cuddled with your honey? It’s a perfect date night option instead of the usual dinner and a movie. It’s not a long ride, but my husband enjoyed the relaxing tour of the grounds.

See & Do

Dana: Jerry Smith’s is famous for their hand-painted pumpkin displays. It never ceases to amaze me what they can do with pumpkins! Kids love seeing these works of art as they usually feature popular characters and cartoons. My daughter went crazy over the display devoted to a certain Disney movie with two princesses and a lot of icy magic! These displays include around 100 pumpkins each year! Bonus – the pumpkin displays are ALWAYS free to enjoy! The petting zoo is great, too, with goats, chickens, and even a kangaroo!

Brittany: The inner child in both my husband and I came out while at the farm. We slipped off our shoes and bounced around on the giant pumpkin pillow together. YES! Adults can jump! Get the wristbands (required for the adventure areas) - $5 weeknights and $10 on weekends. These are good for unlimited fun at the pumpkin farm, include the bounce pillow, hayrides, corn maze, and more! If you are interested in thrills, check out the haunted forest and see who will scream first!

Shopping & Dining

Dana: At the entrance of the farm is the Country Store, which has plenty of homegrown produce to purchase. Apples, sweet corn, and even their famous pumpkin farm cookies are all here for you to stock up on.

Brittany: You’ll want to try the jumbo pretzel and an apple cider slushy! The concession stands offer a nice variety of food options. Don’t leave without pumpkin farm cookies!

Pumpkins

Dana: This farm is known for its pumpkins, and the huge selection proves it. The pumpkins are organized by size near the Country Store. You can find whatever you’re looking for – fat pumpkins, tall pumpkins, white pumpkins, orange pumpkins, gourds, and everything in between! There are carts available to help you get your purchases back to your vehicle, too!

Brittany: Extend your date night by selecting a pumpkin to carve together! Or get two pumpkins and have a carving challenge at home – it may be hard to pick just one given the large variety.
