You may already know about Kenosha Restaurant Week (February 24th - March 3rd, 2024), the annual celebration of Kenosha’s dining scene in which local eateries offer exclusive specials and deals to celebrate our culinary community.

But for those of us who have busy schedules, come from out-of-town, or simply prefer the privacy of their own home, you don’t have to eat out to enjoy Restaurant Week! Check out these tasty take-home offerings that you can enjoy offsite.

Morelli’s Deli Catering

In addition to their deals on made-to-order sandwiches and breakfasts that make for great value meals on-the-go, Morelli’s is offering family style take-and-heat meals that will tempt your tastebuds and your wallet!

Their Italian beef dinner kit and meatballs to-go are both Restaurant Week Exclusives, but if you’re like me and can’t resist a classic take-and-bake pizza, you’re in for a treat with a “buy 2, get 1 free” deal!

For my first time at Morelli’s, I opted for a classic pepperoni and a pepperoni/sausage combo pizza for my meat-loving friends, and it was the perfect option for a movie night around the coffee table. Their pizzas are generous on the toppings, putting frozen pizzas to shame. I particularly recommend the pepperoni and sausage because the Italian seasoning in the sausage really adds that extra flavor you don’t always get with take-home pizza.

Plus, I was able to satiate my craving the next day with the bonus pie!

Tenuta's Delicatessen and Liquors

Famous for their unique food and wine selection, the exclusive takeout deals from this Kenosha staple Tenuta’s Deli are sure to satisfy for a three-course lunch or a date night at home.

I was thrilled to discover that the broccoli & spinach alfredo I selected was made with bowtie noodles (farfalle, for the foodies). You can heat these meals up in the microwave and they taste great, but if you have the time and desire to upgrade your dining experience, I recommend topping with parmesan and breadcrumbs and broiling for a few minutes to get that crispy topping. This is the tastiest way to sneak some nutritious veggies into your meal without sacrificing flavor.

Each dinner also comes with a soup to share and 2 cannolis. Tenuta’s offers an array of flavors, but I kept it classic with an original and a chocolate mousse. Again, these delicious desserts taste great without any fancy preparation, but I loved how simple it was to dress up the presentation for that classy dining feel.

Scoops Ice Cream & Candy

Everyone knows that Scoops is your one-stop-shop for sweets and treats, but did you know they also sell homemade soups?! This quart of chicken noodle really came in handy when I was feeling under the weather, and the texture of the shredded chicken and egg noodles tops anything you can get in a can at the grocery store.

You can get a quart of soup and a pint of ice cream for $15 as a Restaurant Week special. Depending on your appetite, it’s enough for two!

Capt. Mike's Beer & Burger Bar

As much as I love the lakeside pub ambience at Captain Mike’s, their take-and-heat mac & cheese kit is a game changer. The kit comes with everything you need to make gourmet mac & cheese at home, complete with their unique seasoning blend and breadcrumbs to get that crispy finish on your mac.

With the ingredients and directions in the kit, the process is foolproof and only takes about 20 minutes, but leaves you feeling like a seasoned chef! Since the kit serves up to 6 people for only $20 during Restaurant Week, this is a cost-conscious family meal to remember.

This lively venue is also offering dine-in deals for every meal, from brunch to lunch to dinner.
